Dear Mr. Gimson,

You will remember that in the course

of one of your first visits to this Office

you raised the question of marriages

$

performed in Stanley and certificates

issued in the Camp in respect of births

and deaths. At your request Mr. Minnitt

wrote us an official letter on the subject.

We have gone into the matter carefully with

the lawyers and I think you may be

interested to have the attached note

summarizing their views. In case you have

not already received it, I also attach a

copy of Mr. Minnitt's letter and our

official reply.
